CONFIG.BMP files

Here's a collection of CONFIG.BMP files that you can use to create new regions. As I dream up additional ideas, I'll drop them in here (probably a bunch of plain jane ones as well).

  1. Start SC4, create a new region, then exit SC4 (or switch to a different region)

  2. Download the config.bmp file into the new region's "My Documents \ SimCity 4 \ Regions \ yournewregionname" folder.

  3. Restart SC4, and switch back to your new region. You should now see your new tile layout.

12km x 8km - Simpleton

For those of you seeking a small region, here is a rather simple one:

16km x 16km - Wuphons Reach

This is the config.bmp file that I'm using the create the Wuphons Reach region:

16km x 16km - Used for Wuphons Reach

20km x 16km - Wataru

The next size up from 16x16, this is a cropped down version of the 24x20 region. Note the small 1x1 cities wedged in between the large 4x4 cities that can provide power / garbage or water services to the 4x4 cities. The grayscale image is just something that I print out and sketch on (marking tile heights, river paths, mountain ranges) before I start working on the 72 city tiles.

24km x 20km - Dee Five

A very large region (480 sq km). Note the small 1x1 cities wedged in between the large 4x4 cities that can provide power / garbage or water services to the 4x4 cities. I'm not even sure that SC4 can handle a region of this size, but I do plan on finding out in a bit.
