So much to do
On the good note, I finally made it to level 49 on my cleric. This means I can now restore 90% of the experience points lost when someone dies in EQ (as long as we can get to the corpse in under 3 hours). The rest of the level 49 spells weren't really anything to sing about (level 44 is when I got some really nice spells), but that 90% rez means that I won't feel as guilty when I screw up and someone gets killed (oops! guess I was a little late casting that Complete Heal).
Finally got my brother into the same zone as me last night and guild-tagged his enchanter. We're getting ready to do another recruting wave soon, but CSM recruits differently then other guilds. We don't go around shouting that we're looking for members, instead we start seeking out unguilded people and including them in guild groups. Then, if we like them after a few days, someone in the group sees if they're interested in joining the guild. Post an application, get 2-3 CSM members to speak for you and our recruitment officer will drop by to interview them. It's actually pretty simple, but does a good job of weeding out the bad apples before they even get to the final interview stage. When people finally get guild-tagged, they already know 2-3 other CSM'ers, they're of the right level to group with CSM'ers, and they don't feel like an outsider. Sounds crazy, but it really has worked well for us.
Going back to PoH for my 3rd trip this coming weekend. Last weekend I went for the 2nd time on a guild alliance raid (ended up being semi-open as well since we were short on people). This weekend I'm going on another "open" raid (meaning anyone who pays the fee can port up), but I've not raided with this raid leader before so I'm nervous (they wiped out multiple times last weekend). Unless they get their act together, I suspect I'm going to die for the first time in the planes this weekend (I didn't die on my other 2 trips to PoH).
Hmmm, speaking of death, it's been a LONG time since Corish got killed. And I'm not even sure when the last time I got killed was while playing him. I've come close a few times (under a bubble of health), but nothing has managed to put the finishing blow on me in a while. (Well, I just looked, an alliance raid into the City of Mist managed to end up in a total raid wipeout back on March 30th.)
