Sniper case
Yahoo! News - Macabre Clue in Sniper Case
I really believe that leaving behind the tarot card with the shell casing indicates that this killer is methodical, and now is feeling comfortable enough with his mode of operation. Initially, when I saw the report that a shell casing was found - I thought, aha, he's made a mistake. But now it looks more like that was left behind intentionally, as a way of taunting. Definitely a serial killer mindset, someone who sees himself as the protaganist in an epic of his own making (yes I'm assuming it's a he not a she).
I'm also thinking this is a solo act, not a duo act (reports of two people in a white van don't fit), due to the matted grass as the sniper lay in wait for a shot at that 13 yr old boy. Two people laying in wait is a recipe for discovery, while a single person won't be distracted or tempted by the presense of the other (e.g. 1 person = quiet rumination, but 2 people leads to whispered chatting).
Preparation seems to be very careful for some of the kills - the shooting spree seems a bit odd when compared to the rest of the pattern. The killer either went from carefully finding a hunting spot and lying in wait, to killing fast and furious for 16 hours. Either a manic episode, or, well, I don't know what else.
Killing another person at a gas station this last time may be the start of repitition.

Nerf-bat of the year award goes to...
Basically, they've started swinging the bat with abandon in the past 2 months; and pretty much ticking off large portions of the customer base in the process.
everquest casters realm - Massive EQ changes coming
October 8, 2002 MASSIVE EVERQUEST CHANGES COMING
A massive change to EverQuest is coming soon in order to correct faults that 'have been allowed to grow out of control'. Here's the summary:
Manaburn is being changed to only allow one manaburn to be cast on an NPC per minute (pending tuning). Wizards with Manaburn will have their AA refunded if they wish to purchase different skills.
Complete Heal is being reduced to a 7500 hitpoint heal.
Rods of Mystical Transvergence (Mod Rod 2) will no longer be droppable but made into a targettable summon. They will give 320 mana for 450 hitpoints and only be usable once per minute.
Monks will have their effective AC lowered in order to make them more realistic as a light armored offensive class and to restore more tanking prestige to plate and chain classes.Labels: EverQuest
