Spring and Chaos

Saw a preview for Spring and Chaos on the first disc in my Vampire Princess Muyo collection, and it looks like a very interesting film. Visually, it's very distinct, where the main characters are human-like cats.

Newshounds

Love the shirt the guy's wearing - "I'm a Linux love god" - and this from way back in 1999. (Which isn't actually a real big deal, but I'd say that 1998/1999 is about the first time I encountered Linux and even had a system up and runing using it.)

NE Power Outage

Slashdot discussion
The 1977 New York Blackout

Our office out on Long Island NY lost power a bit after 4pm, but I still have power down in central Pennsylvania. So... since everyone at the LI office went home, guess I'm going to go out and run errands.

CNN Radio is interviewing the mayor of NYC (govenor of NY?) at the moment and they keep repeating the same questions and Mayor Bloomberg keeps repeating the same answers. Seems like the audio is looped, but I can't hear where the start/end is. They've now cut to a press conference with Con-Ed. Apparently, power is starting to feed back into the grid from the north/west but it's still going to take a few hours (at least) to get power back to NYC.

The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5

The Lurker's Guide to Babylon 5 - covers pretty much the entire series, except I didn't see an overview of the year 5 story arc.

On a side note, the DVD set that I have of the first season doesn't include the pilot episode for some reason (grrr), so I'm going to have to go back and find that (think I have it on a VHS tape somewhere).

P. T. Barnum

History Buff - P. T. Barnum Never Did Say "There's a Sucker Born Every Minute": "Barnum is also affiliated with the famous quote 'There's a sucker born every minute.' History, unfortunately, has misdirected this quotation. Barnum never did say it. Actually, it was said by his competitor. Here's the incredible story."

B5 Series 1

/chuckle

Got the DVD set of the Babylon 5 first season. It's 22 eps, which is something like 16 hours (there's around 45 minutes per episode or so). Looks like a B5 marathon this weekend if the weather is anything like today (dark, gray and rainy).
