Misc Bits

Well, hope my brother gets his job. I'm curious to see his pony-tail (okay, so we don't see each other much). Amusing, because it was just in the last month that my hair has gotten long enough to put up and stay in a pony-tail. My forelocks just about each the bottom of my chin (which is just long enough, that it will stay in a tail for hours). Still only a baby pony-tail though and won't look great until the Fall when it gets 2-3 inches longer. (Obviously, I don't plan on cutting it at all.) Beard length is probably going to settle in at 1/2" - 3/4", which seems to be about the length that I like it. Long enough to look "full" but not so long that it doesn't look somewhat neat.

Did my first outdoor bike ride yesterday. Only went 10 miles in 70 minutes, but I was trying to keep my heartrate right in the 160-165 zone for the entire ride. Completely bonked about 2 miles from the end and had to walk for a bit (too weak to stay upright!) until I recovered. Today I'm sore in all the usual places that haven't toughened up yet. My plan is to go every other day this coming week, giving myself a day to recover between rides.

And on a PITA note, my indoor exercise bike has given up the ghost. So, for the moment I'm stuck without an alternative for those days when I don't/can't go out and do a ride.

Busy week

Was thinking of some things to blog about, but work has been pretty busy.

The funny thing is that since most people treat the Friday before a holiday as an optional day instead of coming in and working half-day like they're supposed to... the owners decided this year to give everyone off on Friday.

As expected, everyone then treated Thursday as a half-day / optional day (today was supposed to be a full workday). There were only a handful of people left in the office by 2pm today.

All rather silly really, and rather sad at the same time.
