Re-working the Archives
Slowly chugging through the old posts, converting my old-style post titles into the new Blogger.com format, and making use of the new archival method that creates a single file for each post in a year/month sub-folder. The downside is that any internal site-links that were done with relative-addressing need to be redone. Not sure what I'll do for the older 400 of the 700 posts, as Blogger.com's new software only lets me see the latest 300 posts in the edit list. (I suspect I'll have to use the search tool to dig up the offending posts.)
BTW, Xenu says there are roughly 3100 unique URLs (html files, image files, etc) on the site at the moment. The first broken-link report was rather large, showing 14000 anchor tags that were pointing to the wrong spot. Fortunately, the vast majority are due to the way Blogger.com generates and places its individual post archive files and with an easy set of changes to my template file, most of those 14000 errors will drop out nicely (19 per page and roughly 700 pages eliminates 1300). So I still have 575 errors to track down and eliminate.
