Call of Duty - Stalingrad

Mucking around in god mode on the Stalingrad level.

Call of Duty (Stalingrad): Cowering on the boat as the Stukas make another pass. Call of Duty (Stalingrad): Watching the Russians running up the hill while in UFO mode.

Video card upgrades

So, I'm considering upgrading my video card (GeForce4 Ti 4600 128MB AGP from early 2002). It's still a very decent performing card and you can still pick them up for $120 or so (might have to search for either the Ti 4200 or the Ti 4400). But, it's also 2-years old, and I'm planning on picking up a video card for another project anyway (so why not kill two birds with one stone).

Right now, the GeForce FX 5900 XT 128MB AGP card seems to be the right price ($180 or so) combined with roughly double the performance of my Ti 4600. The super-dooper GeForce FX 6800 GT cards are even faster (roughly 4x my Ti4600), but costs are $400-$500 which is way more then I'm willing to pay. Which is a whole different rant. Maybe I'll buy a 6800 two years from now when they drop below the $200 mark.

On the old Ti4600, I'm thinking that I'll visit Zalman or Thermaltake and get a heat sink / fan replacement for the board. Possibly to make it fanless or at least get a quieter fan on the card. The Guru3D forums have a good thread on GeForce air cooling solutions, which is a good starting point.
